Haley Station, located in Horton Township, developed in the late 19th century as a station stop along the Canadian Atlantic Railway. Named after the Haley family, local settlers and mill operators, the village quickly grew to include a schoolhouse, church, post office, and grain elevators that supported surrounding farms.

The railway was the major economic driver for the community, allowing area farmers and lumber producers to ship goods more efficiently. A grain elevator operated at the station for decades, and the surrounding landscape gradually filled with cultivated fields and neatly divided concession lots.

Surveying in Haley Station is shaped by both the original Crown surveys of Horton Township and the later influence of the railway corridor. Railway plans introduced expropriation boundaries, sidings, and rights-of-way that must be reconciled with concession lot fabric. Surveyors frequently encounter plan overlaps, easements, and original occupation lines that diverge from current parcel descriptions—especially near the former station lands.
