Hyndford is a quiet rural locality in the former Grattan Township, now part of Bonnechere Valley. It was settled in the mid-19th century along a stretch of road between Eganville and Dacre, and never developed into a formal village. A schoolhouse and small mission church once served the dispersed community.

The area is defined by its agricultural roots—stony, hilly fields dotted with mixed forest and split-rail fencing. While Hyndford lacked industrial development, it remains a place of long-settled family farms, many of which have remained in the same hands for generations.
