Highlight of the Village of Quadeville
Quadeville is a small hamlet located within Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Township, and is best known for its brief gold rush in the early 20th century. The discovery of gold deposits led to a flurry of mining claims and land speculation in the area.
Although the boom was short-lived, Quadeville remained on the map with a post office, church, and local services. The hamlet today retains a small population and continues to attract geology enthusiasts.
Land surveyors in Quadeville frequently engage with mineral claims, Crown land overlays, and historic patents. Parcel descriptions can be unconventional, reflecting mineral rights reservations, surface rights distinctions, and irregular staking boundaries. Survey work may also involve interpreting historic mining maps and patents.
